The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. The shared shower and onsen bath were a bit of a trek from the rooms and inconvenient, especially after a long day of biking. In addition, the entrance closing at 10 PM made it tricky to navigate if you were out late, which was frustrating.

The location offers stunning views of the sea, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation. The traditional Japanese garden in the courtyard adds a magical touch for quiet moments. I appreciated the inclusion of slippers and yukatas which enhanced the authentic experience.

suminoe ryokan is in a fantastic spot just steps from central setoda, right on the water. my room had a beautiful garden view, and the staff was super nice and helpful. they really made me feel at home. the traditional breakfast was delicious and worth every bite!

This place was such a gem! I loved waking up to the sunrise over the water from my room, absolutely breathtaking. The staff was super helpful, even bringing me a fitting yukata. I had the onsen all to myself, perfect after a long day of biking. I totally recommend the traditional breakfast, sooo good! Just be aware that finding your way through the long hallways can be a bit tricky.

The Japanese-Style Standard Room with Shared Bathroom and Garden View was quite spacious and comfy. I loved the futon bedding and the traditional feel. The view of the sea through the wooden slatted window was a total highlight. The shared bathroom situation was a little inconvenient, but the room itself made up for it. The onsen was a nice bonus after a long day. Overall, a very cozy experience!
